Working with the Content Search Web Part in SharePoint 2013
In SharePoint 2013, Microsoft has introduced a new web part for content aggregation called the Content Search Web Part (CSWP). Before the CSWP, the Content Query Web Part (CQWP) was used to show dynamic content based on a set of criteria. This provided a great way to rollup content however there are some limitations such as only being able to roll up in a single site collection. Since Content Search shows content from a search index it goes beyond what the Content Query can do. The Content Search can display content across site collections as well as include content that is outside of SharePoint. This session will provide an overview of the CSWP as well as demonstrate how to use this powerful web part.
